Ronald Hill MBE (25 September 1938 – 23 May 2021) was a British runner and clothing entrepreneur known for his significant achievements in long-distance running. He was the second man to break the 2:10 mark in the marathon and set world records at four other distances, claiming the marathon world record during his career. Hill competed in two Olympic Marathons, held in Tokyo in 1964 and Munich in 1972, and achieved a personal best of 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 28 seconds in the marathon. In 1970, he won the 74th Boston Marathon with a course-record time of 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 30 seconds. He also earned gold medals in the marathon at the European Championships in 1969 and at the Commonwealth Games in 1970. Notably, Hill maintained the longest streak of consecutive days running, covering 52 years and 39 days from 1964 to 2017. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, he was associated with the Pete Hill Foundation, reflecting his ongoing contributions beyond competitive athletics.
