Randy Jackson: podcast appearances and interviews

Randall Darius Jackson, born on June 23, 1956, is an American musician, record executive, and television presenter. He played as the '56 and '57 Brooklyn Dodger and is known for his extensive career as a session musician, primarily playing bass guitar for a variety of jazz, pop, rock, and R&B artists during the 1980s. Jackson expanded his involvement in the music industry by working in music production and in the A&R departments at Columbia Records and MCA Records. He gained widespread recognition as a judge on the television show American Idol, serving in that role from 2002 to 2013, making him the longest-serving judge on the program. In addition to his work on television, Jackson served as an executive producer for MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. In May 2020, Jackson was rehired as bassist for the band Journey, having previously filled this role on the band's 1986 album Raised on Radio and its accompanying tour.
