Dame Priti Sushil Patel, born on 29 March 1972, is a British politician who has served as the Shadow Foreign Secretary since November 2024. She has been the Member of Parliament for Witham since 2010 and is affiliated with the Conservative Party. Patel has held several prominent government positions, including Home Secretary from 2019 to 2022 and Secretary of State for International Development from 2016 to 2017. She is known for her socially conservative views and her ideological alignment with the right wing of the Conservative Party, describing herself as a Thatcherite.
