Phil Thompson: podcast appearances and interviews

Philip Bernard Thompson, born on 21 January 1954, is an English retired footballer renowned for his career as a defender at Liverpool during the 1970s and 1980s. He represented the England national football team on 42 occasions and served as captain for six of those matches. Following his retirement from playing, Thompson held various roles within the football industry. He served as an assistant manager at Liverpool and acted as caretaker manager for six months during the 2001–02 season while the head manager was ill. Beyond his managerial duties, Thompson became a sports pundit; he was a regular analyst on Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports for 22 years until August 2020 and occasionally appears as a pundit for TV 2 in Norway. In addition to his media work, he is actively involved in academia as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Liverpool, where he teaches on the Football Industries MBA program. Currently, Philip Thompson holds the position of Deputy Director of Production Control at Skye Wealth.
