Patrick Grant: podcast appearances and interviews

Patrick James Grant, born on May 1, 1972, is a Scottish clothier and businessman known for his work in the fashion and textile industries. He is currently the director of Community Clothing and textile manufacturer Cookson & Clegg. Grant has previous experience as the director of bespoke tailors Norton & Sons of Savile Row and the E. Tautz & Sons clothing line. Since 2013, he has served as a judge on the BBC One reality series The Great British Sewing Bee. In addition to his television work, Grant has been recognized for revitalizing traditional tailoring businesses, taking over Norton & Sons in 2005 and successfully rejuvenating it. He relaunched E. Tautz & Sons as a ready-to-wear label in 2009, earning the Menswear Designer award at the British Fashion Awards in 2010. Grant is also involved in academia, having been installed as the Chancellor of Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh in 2025. He is an outspoken critic of the fashion industry, especially concerning the environmental impact of fast fashion and synthetic clothing. His 2024 book titled Less: Stop Buying So Much Rubbish ; How Having Fewer, Better Things Can Make Us Happier discusses sustainable consumption and mindful purchasing practices.
