Pano Kanelos: podcast appearances and interviews

Peter Panayiotis Kanelos is an American academic and scholar specializing in Shakespeare. He was the founding president of the University of Austin and served as the university's chancellor until October 2025. From 2017 to 2021, he was the 24th president of St. John's College in Annapolis. Kanelos was an early contributor to the Teach For America program and previously managed the Lilly Fellows Program in Humanities and the Arts, which includes participation from over 100 colleges and universities aimed at supporting graduate education for students interested in becoming teacher-scholars. Born into a Greek-American family, Kanelos was the first in his family to attend college. He graduated from a Jesuit high school in Arizona and earned a B.A. in English from Northwestern University. He completed an M.A. in political philosophy and literature at Boston University and received a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Kanelos also held postdoctoral fellowships and faculty positions at Stanford University.
