Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Copeland Bloom is an English actor born on 13 January 1977. He gained international recognition for his role as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings film series from 2001 to 2003, earning three Actors Award nominations and securing one win. Bloom reprised this role in The Hobbit film series during 2013 and 2014. His performances in epic fantasy, historical, and adventure films have contributed to his reputation, including roles as Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Paris in Troy, Balian de Ibelin in Kingdom of Heaven, and the Duke of Buckingham in The Three Musketeers. Bloom also appeared in Hollywood productions such as Black Hawk Down, Ned Kelly, Elizabethtown, and New York, I Love You. In 2020, he starred in the Afghanistan War drama The Outpost, which received critical acclaim. Additionally, he starred in the Amazon Prime Video series Carnival Row from 2019 to 2023. Bloom made his professional stage debut in In Celebration at the Duke of York's Theatre in 2007, later performing in a Broadway adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in 2013.
