Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Usyk is a Ukrainian professional boxer born on January 17, 1987. He has achieved notable success in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, becoming the first male boxer in history to hold the undisputed championship titles in two weight classes in the four-belt era. Usyk held the undisputed cruiserweight title from 2018, after winning the World Boxing Super Series tournament, and became the undisputed heavyweight champion twice in 2024 and 2025. He also held the unified heavyweight title from 2021 until June 2026 and has maintained the WBC title since 2024. Undefeated at the time of relinquishing his belts, Usyk is considered the lineal heavyweight champion of the world. As an amateur, he secured heavyweight gold medals at the 2011 World Championships and the 2012 Olympics, compiling a record of 335 wins and 15 losses before turning professional in 2013. He claimed his first world title in 2016 and became the first Ukrainian to achieve undisputed champion status in 2018. Notable victories include defeating Anthony Joshua in 2021 and Tyson Fury in 2024 to win the WBA, IBF, WBO, and WBC titles. He also won the WBO and other major titles throughout his career.
