Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua, also known as AJ, is a British professional boxer born on October 15, 1989. He has held the unified heavyweight championship twice between 2017 and 2021 and also held the International Boxing Organization (IBO) title during his reigns as champion. Additionally, he held the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles from 2015 to 2016 at the regional level. As an amateur, Joshua represented England at the 2011 World Championships, winning a silver medal in the super-heavyweight category. He also represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics, where he secured a gold medal. In 2014, a year after turning professional, he was named Prospect of the Year by The Ring magazine. In 2017, his victory over Wladimir Klitschko was recognized as the Fight of the Year by both The Ring and the Boxing Writers Association of America.
