Neil Taylor: podcast appearances and interviews

Neil Taylor is a Welsh professional football manager and former player. He played as a left-back or left wing-back and is currently the assistant manager of the Wales national under-21 team. Taylor began his career as a Manchester City academy trainee before joining Wrexham in 2007. He later transferred to Swansea City for an initial fee of £150,000 in 2010, making 179 appearances for the club. In January 2017, he moved to Aston Villa as part of a swap deal for Jordan Ayew and went on to make a total of 103 appearances. Following his release from Aston Villa, Taylor signed with Middlesbrough in November 2021, playing there for his final season before retiring in 2022. Internationally, Taylor made his debut for Wales in 2010 and earned 43 caps up to 2019. He was part of the Welsh squad that reached the semi-finals at UEFA Euro 2016 and also represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics held on home soil. Born to a Bengali mother from Kolkata, Taylor is one of a relatively small number of British Asians in professional football.
