Mira Katherine Sorvino is an American actress born on September 28, 1967. She gained widespread recognition for her performance as a prostitute in the comedy film Mighty Aphrodite released in 1995. This role earned her both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. Sorvino has appeared in a variety of films including Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Mimic, Lulu on the Bridge, The Replacement Killers, Summer of Sam, Gods and Generals, Like Dandelion Dust, and Sound of Freedom.
