Michelle Barnes, born in 1948, is an American artist, educator, and arts administrator who is based in Houston. Her artistic work involves the use of sculptural materials such as fibers and papier-mâché. In addition to her practice as an artist, she is the co-founder and executive director of the Community Artists’ Collective, an organization dedicated to supporting and promoting community-based artists.
