Michael Wayne Rosen, born on 7 May 1946, is an English author, poet, presenter, political columnist, broadcaster, activist, and academic. He serves as a professor of children's literature in the Department of Educational Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. Rosen has authored more than 200 books for children and adults, with notable works including We're Going on a Bear Hunt and Sad Book. His contributions to children's literature were recognized during his tenure as Children's Laureate from June 2007 to June 2009. In 2023, he was awarded the PEN Pinter Prize by English PEN for his fearless body of work.
