Michael Lewis is an American author and financial journalist with a background that includes serving as a contributing editor to Vanity Fair since 2009. He has written extensively on business, finance, and economics, focusing on topics such as financial crises and behavioral finance. Born in New Orleans, Lewis graduated from Princeton University with a degree in art history and further studied at the London School of Economics. His career began on Wall Street during the 1980s, where he worked as a bond salesman at Salomon Brothers. This experience inspired his first book, Liar's Poker, published in 1989. Over the years, Lewis has authored several notable books, including Moneyball, which explores the success of the Oakland Athletics and their general manager Billy Beane, and The Blind Side, which was adapted into a film in 2009.
