Maya April Moore, born on June 11, 1989, is an American social justice advocate and former professional basketball player. She earned a reputation as one of the greatest winners in women's basketball history, with Sports Illustrated naming her the inaugural Performer of the Year in 2017. Moore was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024 and is also slated for induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025.

During her high school career, Moore received multiple honors, including the National Gatorade Player of the Year, the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year, and selection as a McDonald's All-American. She played forward for the University of Connecticut women's basketball team, leading them to back-to-back national championships in 2009 and 2010. She was awarded the John Wooden Award in 2009 for her leadership in Connecticut's undefeated national championship run. The following year, she again led her team to a national title, extending the Huskies' undefeated streak to 78 games, and later breaking the all-gender NCAA record with a streak of 90. Moore became the first female basketball player to sign with Air Jordan.

Selected as the first overall pick in the 2011 WNBA draft, Moore joined the Minnesota Lynx, a team featuring notable players such as Seimone Augustus, Rebekkah Brunson, and Lindsay Whalen. She contributed to four WNBA championships, received the MVP award twice, and earned multiple All-Star selections and awards. Moore also secured two Olympic gold medals and titles in Spain and China. Her achievements include winning a second EuroLeague title with UMMC Ekaterinburg in 2018. Recognized as one of 11 women to complete an Olympic gold medal, NCAA Championship, FIBA World Cup gold, and WNBA Championship, Moore was also named to Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2020.
