Matt Rhule: podcast appearances and interviews

Matthew Kenneth Rhule is an American college football coach and former linebacker. As of 2023, he is the head football coach for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Rhule was born in New York City and played linebacker at Penn State University from 1994 to 1997. After completing his playing career, he began coaching as a volunteer assistant at Penn State. Over the next decade, he served as an assistant coach at various institutions. In 2008, Rhule was appointed offensive coordinator at Temple University, where he later became head coach in 2013. During his tenure, he led the Owls to two ten-win seasons, their only such achievements since 1979. Rhule left Temple after the 2016 season to become the head coach at Baylor University. His first two seasons with the Bears resulted in an 8–17 record, but the team improved to an 11–3 season in 2019. Rhule then transitioned to the NFL as head coach of the Carolina Panthers in 2020. His tenure with the Panthers saw the team miss the playoffs in his first two seasons, and he was dismissed in 2022 after an 11–27 overall record. In the following month, Rhule accepted an eight-year contract to become the head coach at Nebraska.
