Matt Price: podcast appearances and interviews

Matt Price was a prominent Australian journalist and columnist known for his work in print and television media. Educated at Newman College in Churchlands and the University of Western Australia, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. Throughout his career, he contributed to publications such as the Albany Advertiser, Perth's Daily News, and The Australian newspaper, where he covered federal politics as a member of the Canberra Press Gallery. His column, titled 'The Sketch,' was noted for its humorous take on parliamentary proceedings, and he occasionally covered sports topics, including the Fremantle Dockers. Price's television work included stints at Channel Nine and Sky News, and he was a regular guest on the ABC program Insiders. He was also known for compiling his notable journalistic work into a collection titled 'Way to Go: Sadness, Euphoria and the Fremantle Dockers.' In addition to his journalism, Price was recognized as a dedicated educator and a history enthusiast, with a focus on technology history. His career was cut short in late 2007 when he was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a form of brain cancer. He passed away on 25 November 2007. His death was widely mourned; the prime minister-elect at the time, Kevin Rudd, remarked on Price's emergence as one of the greats of the new generation of Australian journalists. Price was married to Sue and fathered three children. His brother Richard, a barrister, is married to Senator Michaelia Cash.
