Martin Parr: podcast appearances and interviews

Martin Parr was an English documentary photographer and photojournalist born on May 23, 1952, and passing away on December 6, 2025. He was recognized for his photographic projects that provided an intimate, satirical, and anthropological examination of modern life. Parr's work commonly focused on documenting the social classes of England and exploring broader themes related to the wealth of the Western world. His major projects included Rural Communities, The Last Resort, The Cost of Living, Small World, and Common Sense. Since 1994, Parr was a member of Magnum Photos, one of the most prestigious associations for documentary photographers. Throughout his career, he published approximately 60 solo photobooks and was featured in around 90 exhibitions worldwide. Notable exhibitions included the international touring ParrWorld and a retrospective held at the Barbican Arts Centre in London in 2002. In 2015, he founded the Martin Parr Foundation, which opened in Bristol in 2017. The foundation is a registered charity and serves as a center for his personal archive, as well as a collection of British and Irish photography by other photographers, and hosts a gallery.
