Lisa Sarah MacCormack Raitt, born on May 7, 1968, is a former Canadian politician and a member of the Conservative Party. She served as a member of Parliament from 2008 to 2019, representing the electoral districts of Halton and later Milton. During her tenure in the House of Commons, Raitt held several cabinet positions including minister of natural resources until 2010, minister of labour from 2010, and minister of transport from 2013 until the defeat of the Conservative government in 2015. Following her re-election in the newly formed riding of Milton, she contested the Conservative leadership race in 2017 and was subsequently appointed deputy party leader and deputy opposition leader, roles she maintained until her defeat in the 2019 election. Since leaving politics, Raitt has been serving as the vice chair of Global Investment Banking at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Her political career is marked by her roles in significant cabinet positions and her active participation in Conservative Party leadership contests.
