Linda Marie McMahon, born on October 4, 1948, is an American business executive and former professional wrestling executive who has served as the 13th United States secretary of education since 2025. She is a member of the Republican Party and has held several notable positions in government, including serving as the administrator of the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019. Alongside her husband, Vince McMahon, she co-founded Titan Sports, which later became World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). McMahon served as the company's president and chief executive officer from 1980 to 2009, overseeing its growth from a regional enterprise in the northeast to a multinational corporation. During her tenure, she initiated civic programs such as Get R.E.A.L. and SmackDown! Your Vote, and made occasional on-screen appearances. Her foray into politics includes runs for U.S. Senate in Connecticut as a Republican, which she lost to Democrat Richard Blumenthal in 2010 and to Democrat Chris Murphy in 2012. She was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to be the administrator of the Small Business Administration in late 2016, confirmed in 2017, and served until her departure in 2019. In 2021, she became the founding chairwoman of the America First Policy Institute. She was nominated and confirmed as secretary of education in 2025, assuming office on March 3 of that year.
