Dominique Armani Jones, known professionally as Lil Baby, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter born on December 3, 1994. He gained prominence with the release of his 2017 mixtapes Harder than Hard and Too Hard. The mixtape Harder than Hard produced his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with the single My Dawg. Lil Baby signed with Quality Control Music, an imprint of Motown and Capitol Records, and released his debut studio album Harder Than Ever in 2018. This album peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100-top ten single Yes Indeed, a collaboration with Drake. Later that year, he released the collaborative mixtape Drip Harder with rapper Gunna, which featured the hit single Drip Too Hard, and his solo mixtape Street Gossip, which reached number two on the Billboard 200. His second studio album My Turn was released in 2020; it spent five weeks atop the Billboard 200, was certified quadruple platinum, and became the best-selling album of the year. The album included the singles We Paid, featuring 42 Dugg, and The Bigger Picture, inspired by the protests following George Floyd’s death; both singles reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. His collaborative album The Voice of the Heroes with Lil Durk was released in 2021. Lil Baby’s guest appearance on Kanye West and the Weeknd’s song Hurricane won the Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance. His third and fourth albums, It’s Only Me (2022) and WHAM (2025), debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. Besides his musical achievements, he has won multiple awards, including a Grammy, MTV Video Music Award, and BET Awards, and was named Artist of the Year at the 2020 Apple Music Awards. In 2023, Lil Baby founded Glass Window Entertainment, an imprint of Motown and Capitol, signing artists such as 42 Dugg and Rylo Rodriguez.
