Lauren Elkin: podcast appearances and interviews

Lauren Elkin is a French and American writer, essayist, and translator. She is known for her books, Art Monsters: Unruly Bodies in Feminist Art and Flâneuse. Her work has been recognized by The New York Times Book Review, which listed Flâneuse among its notable books, and the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay, for which it was a finalist. Elkin’s writing has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, Granta, Le Monde, and Frieze. She translated Simone de Beauvoir's The Inseparables into English. She has also held academic positions, including lecturing at the University of Liverpool’s Department of English and the American University of Paris's Creative Writing MFA program. Her debut novel, Scaffolding, was published in June 2024 in the U.K. and September 2024 in the U.S. The novel received critical recognition, being shortlisted for the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award and being the runner-up for the McKitterick Prize.
