Kyle Hartzell, born on September 10, 1985, is an American professional lacrosse player and the Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated from Salisbury University in 2007. Hartzell has played for several teams in professional lacrosse leagues, including the California Redwoods of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Atlas Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League. He has also competed for the San Diego Seals, a team in the National Lacrosse League, and previously played for teams such as Washington, Chesapeake, Ohio, and New York in Major League Lacrosse. During his time with the Ohio Machine in 2012, Hartzell achieved a career-high of 11 goals and recorded 22 caused turnovers. Known for his distinctive style of play, he is recognized for his flashy over-the-head and rusty gate checks. His outspoken personality has contributed to his prominence as one of the most well-known defensive players in lacrosse.
