Kim Butler: podcast appearances and interviews

Kim D. Butler is an American author, historian, and financial strategist associated with Prosperity Thinkers. She earned a PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1996 and has contributed to academic scholarship as an associate professor of history within the Africana Studies department at Rutgers University. Her research focuses on the African diaspora, and she has held prominent roles in scholarly organizations, including serving as the third president of the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora from 2011 to 2015. In 2014, she was named a Fulbright Scholar. As an author, her first book, Freedoms Given, Freedoms Won: Afro-Brazilians in Post-Abolition São Paulo and Salvador, was published in 1998 by Rutgers University Press. The book received recognition by winning the American Historical Association's Wesley Logan Prize and the Letitia Woods Brown Prize from the Association of Black Women Historians.
