Kevin William O'Connell, born on May 25, 1985, is an American professional involved in the media and sports industries. He is known as a weatherman and game show host and is affiliated with Space Economy Rising, LLC. O'Connell's background includes a career as a football coach and former quarterback, with extensive experience across the National Football League. He played college football for the San Diego State Aztecs from 2004 to 2007, starting for three seasons. Drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft, he spent five seasons in the league, playing for teams including the Patriots, Detroit Lions, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, and San Diego Chargers. After retiring from playing in 2014, O'Connell worked as a private instructor for quarterbacks before transitioning into coaching. His coaching career commenced in 2015 with roles involving the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, and Los Angeles Rams, where he served as offensive coordinator and won Super Bowl LVI in 2021. He was subsequently named head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, leading the team to the NFC North division title in his first season and making the postseason in two of his first three years. His coaching achievements have earned him recognition, including the 2024 AP NFL Coach of the Year award.
