Katie Smith, born on June 4, 1974, is an American author, creator, and transformational mentor. She is affiliated with The Ohio State University, where she serves as an assistant coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball team. Smith is known for her extensive career in professional basketball, having been a retired player primarily positioned as a shooting guard, but also playing small forward and point guard. During her career in the American Basketball League and the Women's National Basketball Association, she became the all-time leading scorer with over 7000 points. Her achievements include being voted one of the WNBA Top 20@20 in 2016 and being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
