Kari Lake: podcast appearances and interviews

Kari Lake Halperin, born on August 23, 1969, is an American political figure and former television news anchor. She served as a senior advisor to the United States Agency for Global Media beginning in March 2025. Earlier in her career, she was a television news anchor at the Phoenix station KSAZ-TV from 1999 to 2021. In the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election, she secured the Republican nomination with Donald Trump's endorsement and campaigned on promoting his false claims regarding the 2020 presidential election results. She narrowly lost the election to Katie Hobbs, did not concede, and filed a lawsuit challenging the results; the case was dismissed after nearly two years. Lake later ran in the 2024 U.S. Senate election in Arizona, winning the Republican nomination but losing to Ruben Gallego in the general election. In December 2024, then President-elect Trump announced his intention for her to be appointed as the director of Voice of America, although the position was not formally nominated or appointed by the president. She was sworn in as a special advisor to the USAGM on March 3, 2025. Lake’s appointment and tenure as deputy CEO and acting CEO of USAGM in mid-2025 were later declared invalid by a federal judge. She was nominated by Trump in May 2026 to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica.
