Karen Weaver is an American psychologist and educator who serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. She is known for her involvement in public service and community leadership. Weaver was the mayor of Flint, Michigan, from 2015 to 2019, making history as the first female to hold the position and as the fifth African-American to serve as mayor of the city. Although she is a member of the Democratic Party, local offices in Flint are officially nonpartisan.
