Juliette Lake Lewis, born on June 21, 1973, is an American actress, singer, and musician. She is recognized for her portrayals of offbeat characters, often in films with dark plots, themes, and settings. Lewis rose to prominence in American cinema during the early 1990s, appearing in a range of independent and arthouse films and receiving nominations for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. She began her career in television at age 14 and made her film debut in My Stepmother Is an Alien in 1988. Her early film roles included parts in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Martin Scorsese's Cape Fear, with the latter earning her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
