Joshua Adam Donaldson, born December 8, 1985, is a former professional baseball third baseman from the United States. Over a 13-year career in Major League Baseball (MLB), he played for several teams including the Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, and Milwaukee Brewers. Donaldson was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 2007 MLB draft after playing college baseball at Auburn University. He made his MLB debut with the Athletics in 2010 as a catcher. During his career, he transitioned to the position of third baseman and achieved recognition as an All-Star in 2014. Following the 2014 season, he was traded to the Blue Jays, where he was named as a starter in the 2015 MLB All-Star Game, garnering the most fan votes. In 2015, Donaldson was named the American League's Most Valuable Player and received the Silver Slugger Award; he also led the league in RBIs and runs scored that year.
