John Scalzi: podcast appearances and interviews

John Michael Scalzi II, born on May 10, 1969, is an American science fiction author and former president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. He is recognized for his Old Man's War series, with three novels in the series nominated for the Hugo Award. Scalzi also maintains a blog titled Whatever, which he has used since 1998 to discuss a variety of topics; his writing on the blog contributed to his winning the Hugo Award for Best Fan Writer in 2008. In addition to his fiction, he has authored non-fiction books and columns covering subjects such as finance, video games, films, astronomy, writing, and politics. He has also served as a creative consultant for the television series Stargate Universe. Scalzi's novel Redshirts received the Hugo Award for Best Novel, and his works The Collapsing Empire and The Kaiju Preservation Society have each won the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.
