John Perez: podcast appearances and interviews

John A. Pérez is an American union organizer and politician who has served as a Regent of the University of California since November 17, 2014. He previously held the position of the 68th Speaker of the California State Assembly from March 1, 2010, to May 12, 2014. As a member of the Democratic Party, Pérez represented the 46th district from 2008 to 2012 and the 53rd district from 2012 to 2014 in the California State Assembly. During his legislative career, he focused on various policy issues pertinent to his constituents. In 2013, Pérez announced his candidacy for California State Controller but finished third in the election, narrowly losing to Betty Yee. Although he initially requested a recount in 15 California counties, he ultimately conceded the race more than a month after the election.
