John Negroponte: podcast appearances and interviews

John Dimitri Negroponte is an American diplomat known for his extensive service in the United States Foreign Service and various high-level governmental roles. Born on July 21, 1939, he served in the Foreign Service from 1960 to 1997, during which time he held ambassadorial positions in Honduras, Mexico, and the Philippines. Following his diplomatic career, Negroponte served as the United States permanent representative to the United Nations from 2001 to 2004 and was the ambassador to Iraq from June 2004 to April 2005. He also held significant roles in the U.S. government, including Deputy Secretary of State from 2007 to 2009 and the first Director of National Intelligence from 2005 to 2007. Beyond his government service, Negroponte has been involved in academia, holding positions such as a James R. Schlesinger Distinguished Professor at the University of Virginia at the Miller Center for Public Affairs in 2018, and previously serving as a professor at George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs. He has also been a research fellow and lecturer in international affairs at Yale University's Jackson Institute for Global Affairs. Throughout his career, Negroponte has been recognized for his diplomatic contributions and has received numerous decorations for his service.
