John Burke Krasinski is an American actor and filmmaker born on October 20, 1979. He is widely recognized for his portrayal of Jim Halpert on the NBC sitcom The Office, a role he played from 2005 to 2013. In addition to acting, he was also involved as a producer and occasional director for the show. Krasinski directed, co-wrote, and co-starred in the 2018 horror film A Quiet Place, which garnered significant acclaim and recognition, including a listing by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He further expanded his work in the franchise by directing and writing the sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, released in 2020. His filmography includes appearances in movies such as Leatherheads, Away We Go, It's Complicated, Something Borrowed, Promised Land, and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. He has directed and starred in comedy-drama films including Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, The Hollars, and IF. Krasinski played the title character in the Amazon Prime Video series Jack Ryan from 2018 to 2023, serving also as an executive producer.
