John Grant: podcast appearances and interviews

John William Grant, born on July 25, 1968, is an American singer, musician, and songwriter. He is recognized as the co-founder, lead singer, pianist, and primary songwriter for the alternative rock band the Czars, which released six albums between 1994 and 2006 before disbanding. After a four-year retirement period, Grant launched a solo career, releasing several critically acclaimed albums. His debut solo album Queen of Denmark, released in 2010, was named the best album of the year by Mojo magazine. This success was followed by Pale Green Ghosts in 2013, which was named the best album of the year by Rough Trade. His third album Grey Tickles, Black Pressure, came out in 2015 and reached number five on the UK albums chart, receiving widespread critical praise. Grant's subsequent albums include Love Is Magic (2018), which entered the top 20 in the UK, Boy from Michigan (2021), and The Art of the Lie (2024). In addition to his studio work, Grant released a live album with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in 2014 featuring performances of songs from his first two albums. His collaborations span a diverse range of artists across various genres, including Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Sinéad O’Connor, and Robbie Williams, among others. Since 2018, he has also served as the lead vocalist for Creep Show, a side project formed with members of the band Wrangler.
