John Flansburgh: podcast appearances and interviews

John Conant Flansburgh, born on May 6, 1960, is an American musician and co-founder of the alternative rock band They Might Be Giants, established in 1982. He serves as a lead writer and singer for the band and also plays rhythm guitar. Flansburgh was born in Lexington, Massachusetts, to Earl and Polly Flansburgh. His brother is political activist Paxus Calta. He attended the George Washington University and earned an arts degree from Pratt Institute. In addition to his work with They Might Be Giants, Flansburgh has pursued solo projects, including founding and leading the band Mono Puff as its lead singer. He has directed music videos for various artists and produced the 2011 studio album Artificial Heart by Jonathan Coulton.
