John Bishop: podcast appearances and interviews

John Bishop, born on 30 November 1966, is an English comedian, presenter, actor, and former semi-professional footballer. His early career included playing as a midfielder for various football clubs such as Winsford United, Crewe Alexandra, Runcorn, Rhyl, Witton Albion, Hyde United, Southport, Stalybridge Celtic, Northwich Victoria, Caernarfon Town, Holywell Town, and Hanley Town. Transitioning from sports to entertainment, Bishop made his first television appearance in 2007 on the RTÉ topical-comedy show The Panel, where he was a regular panelist until 2008. He expanded his television portfolio through appearances in series three and four of the E4 teen drama Skins and in the film Route Irish directed by Ken Loach. Bishop has also hosted multiple shows including John Bishop's Britain, John Bishop's Only Joking, and two versions of The John Bishop Show. Beyond television, he has played the character Dan Lewis, the companion of the Thirteenth Doctor in Doctor Who from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, Bishop maintained a weekly radio show titled Bishop's Sunday Service on Liverpool's Radio City. Highly regarded for his charity work, he notably raised £4.2 million for Sport Relief in 2012.
