Jim Cantrell, born on October 5, 1965, is an American entrepreneur and mechanical engineer. He is the co-founder and CEO of Phantom Space Corporation, a company focused on developing space transportation technology. Cantrell has a background that includes work at the French Space Agency CNES and the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He has also served as an independent consultant to aerospace companies for fifteen years and was involved in the founding teams of SpaceX and Moon Express. Notably, he was a consultant for SpaceX and an industry mentor to Elon Musk during the company's early years when SpaceX launched in 2002.
