Jessie Buckley is an Irish actress and singer born on 28 December 1989. She began her acting career in 2008 as a contestant on the BBC talent show I'd Do Anything, where she finished in second place. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Buckley's early on-screen appearances include roles in the BBC television series War & Peace in 2016 and Taboo in 2017. She made her film debut with the lead role in Beast in 2017, and gained significant recognition for her portrayal of an aspiring country singer in the musical film Wild Rose in 2018. Her performance in Wild Rose earned her a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Buckley's career continued with starring roles in films such as I'm Thinking of Ending Things in 2020, Men and Women Talking in 2022, and Wicked Little Letters in 2023.
