Jennifer Jason Leigh is an American actress born on February 5, 1962. She began her career on television during the 1970s and gained her film breakthrough with the teen film Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982. Leigh received critical acclaim for her performances in films such as Last Exit to Brooklyn, Miami Blues, Backdraft, Single White Female, and The Hudsucker Proxy. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of Dorothy Parker in Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle in 1994. Her role as Daisy Domergue in The Hateful Eight earned her nominations for both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015. Leigh starred in the film Georgia in 1995, a project written by her mother, Barbara Turner. She co-wrote and co-directed the film The Anniversary Party with Alan Cumming in 2001 and appeared in the crime drama Road to Perdition and the family drama Margot at the Wedding. Her television work includes a recurring role on the Showtime series Weeds from 2009 to 2012. Leigh has been recognized for voice acting in Charlie Kaufman's Anomalisa in 2015 and starred in the Netflix series Atypical from 2017 to 2021. Her recent film work includes roles in the science fiction movies Annihilation and Possessor. In 2023 she featured in the fifth season of the crime drama series Fargo.
