Jennifer Gordon: podcast appearances and interviews

Jennifer Gordon is a speech-language pathologist affiliated with Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. Her work involves providing clinical services related to speech and communication disorders. Gordon's background includes extensive experience in advocating for immigrant workers and engaging in labor rights initiatives. She founded the Workplace Project in 1992, a non-profit worker center based in Hempstead, New York, which organizes immigrant workers primarily from Central and South America. As the executive director from 1993 to 1998, she spearheaded efforts that contributed to the passage of strong wage enforcement laws in New York state. Gordon was recognized as a MacArthur Fellow from 1999 to 2004. She has authored the book Suburban Sweatshops: The Fight for Immigrant Rights and written numerous articles on topics such as immigration, politics, and labor unions. Gordon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Radcliffe College of Harvard University in 1987 and completed her Juris Doctor degree at Harvard Law School in 1992. Currently, she serves as an associate professor at Fordham University School of Law, where she teaches courses focusing on immigration and labor law.
