Jeff Wood, born on January 20, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas, is an American former race car driver affiliated with Desert Tech. His racing career includes notable achievements such as being named Formula Atlantic Rookie of the Year in 1977 and winning the 1985 championship in the Formula Atlantic West Series. Wood competed in various racing series, including the CanAm series in 1981 and the CART series starting in 1983. In the CanAm series, he drove for Carl Haas and finished fifth behind Danny Sullivan. During his racing career, he participated in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1982, finishing third with Bob Garretson Racing. Wood made multiple starts in CART, with his debut at the Caesars Palace Grand Prix driving for Dan Gurney. Throughout his CART career, he drove for several teams, such as Dick Simon, Gohr Racing, Todd Walther Racing, Dale Coyne Racing, Arciero Racing, and Euromotorsports.
