Jeffrey Patrick Atkinson, born on February 24, 1963, is a former middle-distance runner from the United States. Throughout his athletic career, he has held the outdoor mile record at Stanford University since 1986. In 1989, he was the fastest American male in the 1500 meters. Atkinson competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, where he finished tenth in the 1500 meters race. He attempted a comeback at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona but did not qualify through the Olympic trials.
