Jason Morningstar is an American indie role-playing game designer who primarily publishes through Bully Pulpit Games. His game designs often do not include a game master and focus on scenarios that quickly deteriorate for the player characters. Notable works include Grey Ranks, which depicts doomed child soldiers during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, and Fiasco, a game about impulsive crooks engaged in ill-fated heists. Morningstar is recognized for his distinctive approach to game design and has earned the distinction of being the only individual as of 2023 to have won the Diana Jones Award twice. He also received an IndieCade Award for Desperation. Beyond game design, Morningstar collaborates with academic and industry partners, consulting on the use of games in education, particularly within health sciences, to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
