Janet Napolitano: podcast appearances and interviews

Janet Ann Napolitano is an American politician and lawyer who has been a member of the faculty at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley since 2015. She is the founder and faculty director of the Institute for Security and Governance at UC Berkeley. Napolitano served as the twentieth president of the University of California from 2013 to 2020. She has held several prominent government positions, including United States secretary of homeland security from 2009 to 2013 during the first Obama administration, the governor of Arizona from 2003 to 2009, the attorney general of Arizona from 1999 to 2003, and the United States attorney for the District of Arizona from 1993 to 1997. Her leadership and influence have been recognized internationally, with Forbes ranking her as the ninth most powerful woman in 2012 and the eighth in 2013. She served as chairwoman of the National Governors Association during the 2006–2007 cycle and was noted by The New York Times in 2008 as one of the women most likely to become the first female president of the United States. Additionally, Napolitano sat on the bipartisan advisory board of the States United Democracy Center and was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 2018.
