James Rolfe: podcast appearances and interviews

James D. Rolfe, born on July 10, 1980, is an American YouTuber, filmmaker, and actor known for creating and starring in the web series Angry Video Game Nerd. The series, which began in 2004, is a comedic look at retro gaming and has been influential in the development of online gaming content. Rolfe started creating homemade video productions in the late 1980s, with over 270 projects filmed by 2004. His early work included the initial episodes of Angry Video Game Nerd, originally titled Bad NES Games and later renamed Angry Nintendo Nerd, which he distributed through his Cinemassacre website. In 2006, the series was uploaded to YouTube, and it subsequently went viral, gaining widespread popularity and mainstream attention. The series' popularity led Rolfe to produce a feature-length film based on the series in 2014. Apart from his work on gaming content, Rolfe has also reviewed retro films, television series, and board games. He has authored two books: his autobiography titled A Movie Making Nerd, published in 2022, and a horror fiction book called Gnome Cave, scheduled for release in 2025.
