James Allen Mangold, born on December 16, 1963, is an American filmmaker recognized for his versatility in directing across various genres. He made his debut as a film director with the film Heavy in 1995 and gained notable recognition for films such as Cop Land, Girl, Interrupted, Identity, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Knight and Day, and two entries in the X-Men franchise, The Wolverine and Logan.
