James Cridland: podcast appearances and interviews

James Cridland is an Australian-based radio and podcast industry commentator, consultant, and writer. He is the founder and editor of Podnews, a daily newsletter that covers developments in the podcast industry. Cridland has worked extensively in radio broadcasting, digital audio strategy, podcasting, and hybrid radio technologies. His career in radio began in 1989, and he has held roles spanning broadcasting, digital media, and technology strategy. Notably, he worked for Virgin Radio in the United Kingdom, where he led digital initiatives including the launch of a mobile streaming application and the development of podcasting projects, activities for which the station's digital team received two Webby Awards in 2005. In 2007, Cridland joined the British Broadcasting Corporation and contributed to the enhancement of the BBC's digital audio services, including improving online radio streams and redeveloping programme websites for television and radio.
