Jaime Harrison: podcast appearances and interviews

Jaime Ricardo Harrison is an American lawyer and politician who served as the chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2021 to 2025. He was also the chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party from 2013 to 2017. Born and raised in South Carolina, Harrison graduated from Yale University and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Early in his career, he headed a non-profit organization focused on assisting low-income students with career readiness. Harrison worked for South Carolina congressman Jim Clyburn and served as staff director for the House Democratic Caucus. He also worked as a lobbyist for the Podesta Group prior to his political leadership roles. In 2020, he was the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in South Carolina, running against Senator Lindsey Graham, though he was defeated by ten points. Harrison was nominated by President Joe Biden and subsequently elected as chair of the Democratic National Committee in January 2021. Following the Democratic Party's loss in the 2024 United States presidential election and other recent electoral outcomes, Harrison announced that he would not seek a second term as chair of the party in 2025.
