Imara Jones: podcast appearances and interviews

Imara Jones is an American political journalist and transgender activist who is known for creating TransLash Media, a cross-platform journalism, personal storytelling, and narrative project. She has hosted media programs such as The Last Sip, a weekly news show aimed at Millennials of color, particularly women and members of the LGBTQ community. Jones has been a prominent figure in advocating for social justice and equity issues, and she has participated in significant events including chairing the first-ever United Nations High Level Meeting on Gender Diversity in 2019 with over 600 participants. Her work as a host, on-air news analyst, and writer has been featured across numerous outlets including The Guardian, The Nation, MSNBC, CNBC, NPR, Mic, TheGrio, ColorLines, and the In The Thick podcast. She has also contributed to the New York City Transgender Oral History Project in partnership with the New York Public Library. Jones has held economic policy positions during the Clinton administration and has worked in communications at Viacom, where she led the award-winning Know HIV-AIDS campaign. She holds degrees from the London School of Economics and Columbia University. Currently, she is a Soros Equality Fellow and serves on the boards of the Anti Violence Project and the New Pride Agenda.
